Chilled below about 2.17 kelvin, liquid helium becomes a superfluid that creeps up and over the walls of its container as a film only tens of nanometers thick, emptying the vessel by itself.
The escape happens because the superfluid component has zero viscosity, so it flows without resistance along any available surface.
